About Me
Here’s a little background about me (Parminder Gill):
I am a marketer and entrepreneur based in Bangalore, India. Until very recently, I was running the marketing for a global (USD 320 Million) IT consulting and services firm. I have been in the Business/ Technology Marketing space ever since I started my professional career in 1991. During this time I have worked and lived extensively in India and the US. Earlier in my career, I also had a chance to start and run a successful technology solutions firm in India for a few years. Currently I am a Co-Founder of EduSports: India’s First and Only Integrated Sports Management Services Firm (and Platform) for K-12 Schools and Colleges. Additionally, I advise couple of interesting early stage Software Firms based in Bay Area/ Bangalore.
I am a big fan of irreverent and ‘close to the ground’ style of marketing - basically remarkable, but actionable stuff. And which is why you would see a lot from folks like Tom Peters, Seth Godin, Guy Kawasaki, and Steve Jobs in my blog. My other non-trivial passions are emerging markets (more specifically India) , economics and psychology.
By way of “formal” education, I have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Pune in India - and a Masters degree in Information Management from W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University in the US.
